google-search-options-logoLast Thursday, Google introduced a new feature called “Search Options” for mobile users including iPhone and other mobile handsets, including Android & Palm WebOS devices.

You may already familar with this feature. Back in May, the “Search Options” was released to desktop users. With options, Google allows you to further refine the search results by a set of criteria, including timeframe and type of content.

Now, this feature is also available on iPhone and iPod touch, as well as, other mobile devices. You can point your mobile Safari to google.com and type in the keyword. Say, let’s search for “Coffee”. On the search results page, you can now tap on “Options”. You’ll see a number of filters available to refine the search result. For example, tapping on “Forums” will only show you the forum result. If you’re looking for product review, simply use “Reviews” option. Search option also lets you to filter result by timeframe (e.g. Show me only the results for the past 24 hours or a specific date range).

I love this feature when using it on desktop. So, it’s great to see Google bring Search Options to iPhone. For those you also find this feature useful, point your iPhone to google.com. As this feature is now available in U.S. only, iPhone users from other countries will need to use the U.S. version to test out the feature. Normally, you can click “Go to Google.com” to access the U.S. version.
